A Russian military space official admitted on Wednesday, October 2 that his country’s space troops are ill-equipped to defend against an extraterrestrial attack.
According to Russia Today, what was formerly known as the Russian Space Forces is now the Aerospace Defence Forces. This current incarnation of Russia’s space troops was created in 2011 “through the integration of several military branches responsible for anti-missile defense, strategic anti-aircraft warfare and control of outer space.” This new branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is principally responsible for air and space defense. And one of its specific tasks is “Monitoring space objects and identification of potential threats to the Russian Federation in space and from space, prevention of attacks as needed.” But these space troops are apparently not ready if the prevention of an attack from extraterrestrial forces is needed.

While speaking at a media conference at the Titov Main Test and Space Systems Control Center near Moscow, a journalist asked Sergei Berezhnoy, an aide to the head of Center, about defending against an extraterrestrial invasion. Berezhnoy responded, “So far we are not capable of that. We are unfortunately not ready to fight extraterrestrial civilizations.” He explained, “Our center was not tasked with it. There are too many problems on Earth and near it.”
Russia Today points out that, while the space troops may not have the capabilities to fight aliens just yet, they do have extremely effective and high tech resources to help them deal with terrestrial issues and threats.

NASA vows to review ban on Chinese astronomers

Source - Space Daily
by Staff Writers Washington (AFP) Oct 10, 2013

The US space agency Thursday vowed to reconsider the applications of Chinese scientists who were denied access to a NASA conference on security grounds, sparking a boycott by leading American astronomers.
NASA administrator Charles Bolden said the situation was "unfortunate" and pledged to take a fresh look at the applications once the US government reopens.
The government has been partially shut down since October 1 amid a US political crisis, sending home 97 percent of NASA staff without pay as well as hundreds of thousands of federal employees.
"It is unfortunate that potential Chinese participants were refused attendance at the upcoming Kepler Conference at the Ames Research Park," Bolden wrote in an email to Congressman Frank Wolf, seen by AFP.
"Mid-level managers at Ames, in performing the due diligence they believed appropriate following a period of significant concern and scrutiny from Congress about our foreign access to NASA facilities, meetings and websites, acted without consulting NASA HQ (headquarters)," he continued.
"Upon learning of this exclusion, I directed that we review the requests for attendance from scientists of Chinese origin and determine if we can recontact them immediately upon the reopening of the government to allow them to reapply."
Bolden said any scientists who meet "the clearance requirements in place for foreign citizens will be accepted for participation."
The conference is to be held November 4-8 at a NASA facility in northern California.
The applications of six Chinese scientists were denied due to what organizers said was a March 2013 order for a moratorium to visits to NASA facilities by citizens of several nations including China.
The basis for the ban was called into question on Tuesday by Wolf, who authored related legislation in 2011 that he said restricted space cooperation with the Chinese government and Chinese companies but not individuals.
The moratorium and other additional security measures were issued earlier this year by Bolden following a potential security breach at a NASA facility in Virginia by a Chinese citizen, and should have been lifted by now, Wolf said earlier this week.
Some leading US astronomers have vowed to boycott the conference next month on the basis of the denied applications.
One of them, Debra Fischer of Yale University, told AFP that one of her post-doctoral students was among those whose application was denied.
Beijing's foreign ministry described the application denials as discriminatory, and said academic meetings should remain free of politics.

Tony Blair was briefed on MoD UFO Files

Source - BBC

Prime Minister Tony Blair was briefed on the UK’s files about UFO sightings in 1998, newly declassified MoD documents have revealed.

Writer Dr David Clarke had urged him to “consider making available for public scrutiny all of the many and varied UFO reports compiled by the government”.

The request came as the government began to implement Freedom of Information (FOI requests).

Some 6,700 pages of UFO documents have been released by the National Archives.

Chelsea FC sighting

The documents also include details of a briefing made before a House of Lords debate on UFOs in 1979, and reveal that former prime minister John Major had been asked by a fellow MP in 1996 whether the government would set up a national inquiry into UFO sightings.

The declassified documents – from the MoD unit which investigated UFO claims from 1950 until it was shut down in 2009 – also include several sightings and investigations.
These include:
  • A spate of sightings in west Wales in 1977 which included a hotel owner reportedly seeing two tall, silver-suited “faceless humanoids” which began making measurements
  • A UFO sighting in Spalding, Lincolnshire, which led to the witness being visited by three tall men in black suits who “seemed to move silently”
  • An RAF Air Commodore describing in a memo to Defence Intelligence Staff that he had seen a UFO flying above him when he was flying at 40,000 feet
  • A mounted police officer seeing a “square/diamond shaped object moving across the sky and changing shape” whilst on duty at Chelsea FC ground in 1999
  • A memo noting claims the naval task force sailing to liberate the Falklands in 1982 had been shadowed by UFOs – “presumably Little Green Men in ponchos”

Dr David Clarke, author of the book The UFO files and senior lecturer in journalism from Sheffield Hallam University, pushed to have these files released.

He said: “These records allow us to look behind the scenes of what must have been one of the strangest jobs in Whitehall.”

‘X Files’ fiction

Files relating to the unit have been transferred to the National Archive since 2007.

The documents also include an email from an intelligence officer working on the desk who described the daily mechanics of the role.

The officer says it is not the MoD’s role to confirm or deny the possibility of extraterrestrials, but to gauge whether unidentified objects are a threat to the UK’s security.

In an email he says discussion of the unit “tends to suggest to the public that there are Top Secret teams of specialist scientists scurrying around the country in a real life version of the X-Files… [but] this is total fiction.”

The files will be free to view for a month.

Please go to the National Archives and download the files. They are free for a month, but after that you must pay… I will upload them to the downloads section for you all, but they won’t be ready for some time.

Are aliens really out there? You’ve heard tales of little green men from other planets, but these are normally consigned to urban legends and sci-fi fables. However, a dossier of files released by the Ministry of Defence last year proves just how seriously some of these close encounters are taken by the government. Discover the truth in UFO UK: New Evidence.

Since August 2010, these previously classified ‘UFO files’ have been in the public domain – and they reveal some startling goings-on in the skies above Britain. There’s Winston Churchill’s wartime cover-up, the alleged UFO crash in a remote part of Wales and the East Anglian sighting that left police, coastguard and radar operators scratching their heads. Among the many other reports brought to light are the hushed-up camera recording of a UFO over Scotland and the bizarre experience of a Boeing 737 jet pilot flying above Manchester.

The files also provide a fascinating insight into how attitudes towards alien visitors have changed over the years, with everything from war to The X Files playing their part in the timeline. But this is more than just a case for Mulder and Scully.

UFO’S caught from Atlantis shuttle cargo bay!

Three UFO’s were filmed from the cargo bay of NASA’s space shuttle, Atlantis.

The objects appear to be in a triangular formation when mission control attempts to explain the objects as some sort of “reflective cloth” and “definitely not a rigid or metallic object”.

Cloth in space? Why? Does the shuttle have sails? Three pieces of cloth flying in a triangular formation? Really?…

Pilot Encounters Unknown Craft over San Diego

Source -By , About.com Guide

Introduction: Pilot Reports
It is a well-accepted fact that the value of a UFO report is graded by who makes them. Pilots, who are trained to not only navigate their vehicles, but to be observant as to what it going in the skies around them, are always given high priority when they report.
Quite often, there is a stigma attached to a pilot report. Oftentimes they are grounded, and in extreme cases, fired when they insist on reporting an unknown flying object. For this reason, many pilots keep what they see to themselves, or report the occurrence at a much later date. Such is the case below.
San Diego, California - 2000s
Here is the pilot's testimony:
Throughout the years I have been in situations where I found myself praying when I encountered ice, storms, and zero visibility. None of these were as frightening as a UFO encounter I experienced a decade ago, while high above San Diego.
One clear June morning as I looked ahead of me I noticed movement out of the side of eye. To my shock, a huge UFO, twice the size of my Cessna 172 was traveling alongside me.
I stared at the UFO for less than a minute and it just sped off and vanished in a second. As it did, my plane lunged to the side violently and started to dip. I managed to stabilize things and spent the next two hours wondering what the heck I had just seen.
The UFO
Editor's Note: Very little information about the craft was revealed by the pilot, but a craft that was twice the size of his must have made an indelible impression on him. Using the term "UFO" tells me that what he saw was not a balloon or other conventional object. This he would have known without question.
Here's a dose of reality which might be hard to swallow for those wishing to stay in the cozy bubble our governments and media have created for us:
Alien and UFO visits to earth are fact: totally irrefutable certainty. UFOs from other worlds are entering our air space all the time; everyone that 'needs' to know it does. UFOs do present a serious risk to pilots, military, commercial and private.
A Pilot's Warning
It is essential that the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) make study of UFOs and the dangers they present as well as advised procedures in the event of a UFO encounter a non-negotiable part of training to earn a Pilot's License.
It is also essential that the FAA generally comes clean to pilots about UFOs in the skies. The FAA should also train tower personnel on UFOs and admit that those odd things that are observed form time to time, both on radar and visually are alien craft - so that all pilots can be informed of any nearby UFOs they need to take into account.
Many professional commercial pilots are afraid to report a UFO in the skies because their employers do not want this information on record. This is why there are so few pilot reports of alien craft in the sky.
The fear of being fired by the airline is the major deterrent for the pilots who were probably military pilots at one time in their careers.
Thanks to this brave pilot for his report, and thanks to Ken Pfeifer for sharing his report.

UFO photographed by motorist in West Yorkshire

A man named Emil Ziemczonek claims he accidentally photographed a UFO while taking landscape photos in the West Yorkshire town of Shipley in England on Sunday, October 6.

Ziemczonek explained to the Telegraph & Argus, “I had a friend coming to visit from London and I wanted to show him the beautiful views.” He stopped his car at a bus stop to take the landscape photos on his cell phone. And that is when he apparently snapped the photo that captured the UFO. As is the case with many similar situations, Ziemczonek says he did not see the UFO when he took the photo, but instead he discovered it when he was back home reviewing the photos he took.
He told the Telegraph & Argus that, after discovering the UFO in his photo, he “immediately thought that it looked like some sort of spaceship.” He continued, “I think it must have come from Space because it looks so very strange.” He also speculates that the object must have been flying “very quickly” because he did not see anything in the sky when he took the photo.

The UFO (top) and the tax disc holder (bottom)
Although Ziemczonek is convinced he photographed a spaceship, not everyone agrees with his conclusion. Some believe the object in the photo is simply something on the car’s windshield like bird droppings, or even a chip in the glass. Another theory is that, because of its similar shape, the UFO could simply be the tax disc holder (the object attached to the lower left corner of the windshield) reflecting off the lens of the camera. Yet others believe the UFO shows signs of digital manipulation, implying the photographer added the UFO to the photo.
Ziemczonek seemingly took multiple photos of the same landscape, so viewing these other photos would be an easy way to either substantiate or refute the theories that the UFO is simply a reflection or something on the windshield. But this one photo is all that has been released.
